- Topic: New adjunct-at-large member
Discussion: An elected member was unable to fulfill the duties this semester. Since an election was held recently, the Council decided to reach out to the 4th place vote receiver.
Action: Marcus Williamson will be contacted to fill the position.
- Topic: Adjunct pay outside of contract hours
Discussion: There has not been a formal decision about pay for work within shared governance.
Action: Continue to bring up the topic at the ABC meeting.
- Topic: Adjunct Survey Results
Discussion: Reviewed the responses to the survey questions of November 22, including how adjuncts could support each other and aspects of the Adjunct Faculty pay scale.
Actions: Summarized survey results will be shared with ABC, IDC, and Department Chairs. This can provide a dialogue for improvement of communication and connectedness.
- Topic: Ally accessibility training in Canvas
Discussion: Talked briefly about what it is, how much time it takes, and if Adjunct Faculty could be paid for doing the training.
Action: Wait for more information about whether this training will be required.
- Topic: Adjunct PDD changes
Discussion: This semester, there won’t be an Adjunct PDD. With the changes to PLD (Professional Learning Day) this semester, the format and content of the usual Adjunct PDD needs to be revisited. Discussed how issues from the survey could be addressed in periodic sessions for Adjunct Faculty offered throughout the semester.
Action: Members will bring ideas about this to the next meeting.
