Upcoming Conferences of Interest to English Faculty

Thanks to Maureen Fitzpatrick for the following information:

If you are feeling inspired by last Friday’s CavCon, there are some great opportunities next year to share your ideas and experiences:

TYCA-Midwest (Akron, October 17-19) is accepting proposals through April 30. The theme is “Where the Rubber Meets the Road.” http://tycamidwest.org/conference/

CCCC 2020 (Milwaukee March 25-28) is accepting proposals through May 6. The theme is “Considering our Commonplaces” https://cccc.ncte.org/cccc/call-2020

The second National TYCA will be held the Wednesday before CCCC. The proposal form will be out next month and will be due September 15. You can submit a proposal for both CCCC and National TYCA, but the proposals must be different.

The Kansas Association of Teachers of English (Wichita October 25-27) is accepting proposals until August 31. The theme is “Grow Empathy, Inspire Authenticity.” https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeQWdsbVH0iIIV-29EDZEni6ymCWissVIkPxD9jvP7Y-ZYgIA/viewform

If you are an adjunct and want to know what JCCC can do to help support participation in these or other professional development activities, ask your facilitator or the amazing Farrell Jenab.
