So this ad appeared in my Facebook feed. Why buy it when I can make it myself?
I modeled my name at www.tinkercad.com, an app targeted to gradeschoolers.
Saved, and got options to download as an stl file or send to a service bureau.
I downloaded the stl file.
This is my MakerBot.
I printed a prototype to make sure there were no problems.
Then I uploaded the file to Shapeways, where they can print it in silver or gold. Good times!
