National Model United Nations conference New York City April 4 to 11, 2025

Model United Nations, also known as Model UN or MUN, is an extra-curricular activity in which students typically role-play delegates to the United Nations and simulate UN committees. At the end of most conferences, outstanding delegates in each committee are recognized and given an award certificate. Thousands of college students across the country and around the world participate in Model United Nations, which involves substantial researching, public speaking, debating, and writing skills, as well as critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership abilities.

The JCCC Model UN has a record of success in competing at college-level model UNs against major universities and colleges from throughout the world. In the last ten years of success for JCCC, during which the team has received awards at conferences they have attended over the last 18 years.

The Johnson County Community College UN Team offers students (including area high school students who are enrolled in College Now or Quickstep) an excellent opportunity to learn more about how the world’s nations act together to solve global problems and reduce suffering around the world. The JCCC UN Team has a record of success in competing at college-level model UNs against major universities from throughout the world.
