- Job Description
- The typical duties that may be performed are:
– Interaction with students with limited knowledge of subject matter.
– Assist students in performing hands-on tasks in which students have received classroom instruction.
– Act as a safety officer for a group of 4 to 8 students insuring students are not subject to unwitting or unnecessary harmful acts.
– Assist the adjunct faculty in duties necessary to insure learning is and has taken place.
– Assist in setup and tear down of needed props and drillsSet up and proctor Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT).
Required Skills
- Lab Aide shall have subject matter knowledge of specific material to be trained upon during the hands-on class operations.
TRAINING:
The individual shall be State certified as follows:
Fire fighter I
Firefighter II
Hazardous Materials Operations - Required Experience
- This position requires experience as a firefighter on a fire department. Previous experience should include active structural firefighting. In addition, the individual should have experience in extrication and hazardous material response.
