I don’t find sarcasm as funny as I did as an adolescent. Too many frosh think it’s clever and edgy, but it seems so predictable. There’s a meme online that points out an interesting aspect to this. Are people not aware that my immediate assumption in the face of sarcasm is that the sentiment expressed in the following?
Some student somewhere thought this is clever – and they must assume no one else would guess the intent behind sarcasm.
Eventually – most people figure this out.
