I hate to admit I enjoyed Kung Fu Hustle. There are aspects of traditional Chinese culture, and Hong Kong action stars from the manic hey-day of the 70’s. It isn’t fresh in my memory now, and to be honest I often find myself trying to remember what exactly it’s called, so I blog on it today while I can remember it. I swear I’ve blogged on it before, but I can’t find it now.
This definitely fits into the category of Chinese popular or “low” culture – and it would appeal to most of my students.
