How to use the handbook to figure out how to cite the Fish article.

What information do we include and how do we figure it out?  First go to the free online MLA handbook and look at its table of contents.  We know it is an online newspaper (New York Times), so we find where it tells us how to cite an online newspaper.

So we know we go to page 27 where we see:

Now look at the Fish article at http://opinionator.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/09/07/what-should-colleges-teach-part-3/?_r=0 Here’s a screen grab.

NOTE: the example from the MLA handbook provided to you in syllabus, and repeatedly online, uses THE SAME ONLINE NEWSPAPER as a source.  Your dates of access, author’s name, etc. will be different, but THE NAME OF THE NEWSPAPER AND THE PUBLISHER IS THE SAME.

If you need help figuring it out from here, ask pointed specific  questions in reply to this thread.
