One reason to visit Xi’an before committing to live there.

The pollution in China is, for want of a better word, epic.  On Reddit today I found reference to an app that converts the pollution index to the equivalent of cigarettes smoked.  Yesterday living just outside of Xian and breathing the air was the equivalent to smoking almost two packs of cigarettes.

the app “Sh**t! I Smoke” which converts AQI to number of cigarettes. Last night, just east of Xi’an sh**t got really real. With a cigarette equivalent of 35.9 cigarettes per day.
