This year our “product” was civic engagement and we tied our Team Based Learning inquiry learning project to the mid-term elections. No one endorsed or campaigned for any candidate, but students were enouraged to research issues while focusing on a target market/ youth demographic and messaging peers to get out the vote . While we had the usual and predictable challenges (See Sartre re Hell and other people), and a misconceptions (regarding the definition and fair use of Memes) we seem to have made measureable positive change in civic involvement (which was a foreseeable but unrequired outcome). Check out the video to see stats and specific and open ended student feedback.
