Alumni Allison Jeepson
Connect with current HCIS student Allison Jeppson! Allison’s passion for technological innovations and her desire to improve healthcare communications in her community led her to the JCCC Healthcare Information Systems Program.
Allison knew as soon as she started her first HClS course, she was in the right program. “As I’m about to conclude my education, I have found my passion lies in finding new advancements to technology that will lead to a reduction in medical error. I want to focus my efforts on low-income and rural clinics, and be a part of sharing quality, optimized, patient-centered care to all patients.”
HCIS Professor Cindy Lingerfelt stated: “Allison is eager to learn and has a keen interest in learning new technology as well as a passion for reducing medical errors that will benefit her well in the HCIS industry.”

Congratulations Health IT Executive and JCCC Healthcare Information Systems Program Professor Heidi Waldschmidt on her new leadership position with Tivity Health!
Heidi brings her vast knowledge and skills to Tivity Health after a 9 year career at Cerner Corporation in roles ranging from Solution Architect, Lead Consultant to Health Network Strategy Executive.
At Tivity Health, Heidi leads the Enterprise Data Fabric Program where she has responsibilities for data modernization, quality, and governance initiatives. As an IT Program Management Director, Heidi collaborates with Tivity’s business stakeholders to identify technology solutions as part of the organization’s data infrastructure.
Since 2106, Heidi has shared her healthcare IT expertise with JCCC HCIS students. The HCIS program immerses students in a variety of industry relevant topics including the recent addition of our Healthcare Data Analytics course. #JCCCHCIS #Tivityhealth

Alumni completes JCCC Healthcare Information Systems Program internship and advances her career!
With her strong digital healthcare IT experience and knowledge, Sharmistha Mullick returned to JCCC HCIS &
interned at ATCHISON COMMUNITY HEALTH CLINIC.
She managed a project to
– automate the paper registration process
– integrate the registration information into the EHR.
According to her internship manager, Jonathan Smith, MPH, Operations Director, ATCHISON COMMUNITY HEALTH CLINIC:
“Sharmi is an excellent project manager and she did a fantastic job in healthcare process improvement.”
A lifelong learner, Sharmi continues to pursue her health IT education through coursework on analytics and business operations.
