KC\u2019s Power And Light District Hosts Street Food Festival<\/strong><\/p>\n

Do you love food and need plans for next weekend? The Power and Light District<\/a> will host the perfect event for you. On Saturday, Oct. 18, the Street Food Festival<\/a> will make its latest stop in Kansas City, Missouri<\/a>. With cheap prices on most items, this event is great for all ages and budgets.<\/p>\n

The event will take place in \u201cKC Live Block\u201d and the neighboring streets with more than 25 food vendors\/trucks<\/a>. Vendors will provide foods from all different kinds of cultures and countries. Alcohol will be plenty available for anyone 21 and over, including beer, hard seltzers, and mixed drinks.<\/p>\n

If food and drinks ever become boring for you, the Street Food Festival will also have live music\/entertainment, Cheesy-fry and Stein-holding competitions, and cooking demonstrations. There’s also bountiful activities for the kids<\/a> like face painting, bounce houses, and a pumpkin patch.<\/p>\n

The general admission ticket of $6.99<\/a>, which gets you access to everything in the festival except for a chocolate fountain, early access, and hard seltzer sampling. That is included in the VIP ticket<\/a>, $59.99, and also includes one-hour early access. After you pay to enter, most food trucks will charge about $5 per item.<\/p>\n

Last Weekend of the Renaissance Fair Takes Place<\/strong><\/p>\n

Do you love Halloween and everything Renaissance Era? If the answer is yes, then the last weekend of the Renfaire is the place for you.<\/p>\n

Join the Kansas City Renaissance Festival in their final weekend \u201cHaunted Huzzah\u201d<\/a> and experience trick-or-treating and ghoulish delights with ghosts, goblins and knights searching for some Halloween fun. \u201cHaunted Huzzah\u201d will be Oct. 11-13 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.<\/p>\n

On top of all the Halloween fun, the Renfaire offers everything else it does during the rest of the season including artisan shops with homemade goodies, food and drink options and live entertainment, like jousting.<\/p>\n

Regular priced tickets<\/a> are $27.95, however, they offer a whole bunch of deals and discounts. The most important deal is for students just like you. \u201cRennaissance Scholars<\/a>\u201d students get free admission with either printed or digital proof of good grades (As and Bs) in school and a student ID. All other college students can show their student ID for $12 tickets.<\/p>\n

There are also other ways you can try to save money exploring the renfaire. Residents of Williamsburg, Kansas, Warrensburg, Missouri, Bonner Springs, Kansas and Edwardsville, Kansas can get $3 off their ticket with proof of address and military, and first responders get $5 of an adult ticket with their ID.<\/p>\n

Take advantage of their deals and discounts, dress up, and stop by the Renfaire for a spooky time during their final weekend of the season.<\/p>\n

JCCC\u2019s Hidden Gems<\/strong><\/p>\n

JCCC has many remarkable amenities available to students on campus, some of which include the academic resource center<\/a> to receive help with their school work, the fitness center<\/a> for when they want to work up a sweat, and even the student lounge<\/a> to play a variety of games with their friends. Personally, I have a passion for learning outside of the classroom, and that draws me to the great Billington Library<\/a>.<\/p>\n

What is so significant about this library? With over 55,000 books (according to the Johnson County Post<\/a>) that cover a wide range of subjects, Billington Library has much to offer for students\u2019 research needs. You can go online<\/a> to search for the books that you\u2019re looking for and where in the library to find them. What if books are not your thing? This library also offers a collection of music, movies, articles, and other electronic resources.<\/p>\n

Many parts of the campus can get busy at times. For students who need somewhere quiet to study or even take a nap, Billington Library has that as well, including private study rooms <\/b><\/a>to reserve. If you have any questions, you can ask any of the librarians at the front desk or contact them using the library website<\/a>.<\/p>\n
