At Johnson County Community College, events like Soccer Student Night demonstrate the profound impact of student support on both athletes and the broader campus community. Whether in the stands or on the field, the connection between fans and players helps build a strong sense of pride and energy across JCCC.<\/p>\n

For Ashley Garcia, attending Student Night is about being something bigger.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt makes me feel involved because it\u2019s open to students,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

She enjoys seeing her classmates compete and the chance to meet new people.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt makes me feel more involved, and meeting new people is really cool,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

Garcia encourages other students to come out and support.<\/p>\n

\u201cShow up with your friends and have a positive attitude,\u201d Garcia said.<\/p>\n

In the field, that energy makes a real difference. Ben Points, a member of the JCCC men\u2019s soccer team, said the fan support gives the players an extra boost.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think energy from the fans gives us a boost when we\u2019re playing a tough team,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

One moment that stood out for him was the team\u2019s upset over Iowa Lakes.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe crowd support really pushed us to upset Iowa Lakes\u2013it\u2019s good to have that extra energy from the crowd,\u201d Points said.<\/p>\n

Balancing academics and athletics takes focus and support, too.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just have to write everything down and prioritize the right things so I don\u2019t fall behind,\u201d Points said. \u201cIt\u2019s nice having school tutors who help keep us on track.\u201d<\/p>\n

He praised the JCCC community around the athletes.<\/p>\n

\u201cI wish people knew how much support we get from our coaches, counselors, and academic advisors,\u201d Points said.<\/p>\n

Together, voices like Garcia\u2019s and Points\u2019 show how events like Student Night are more than just a game\u2013they\u2019re a celebration of teamwork, encouragement, and the community spirit that makes JCCC special.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
