What do animation, axolotls and college have in common? Well, the JCCC Animation Club has paired them all together into one wonderful connection-building experience for students that may not usually have that otherwise.<\/p>\n

Animation Club meets in RC 311 every Friday from 4-6 p.m. It\u2019s open to all students interested in animation, whether that is their major or just a visual interest of theirs. Animation Club offers annual, semiannual and weekly events. Weekly events include activities like Music Video Night, where attendees write down different animated music videos and watch them as a group.<\/p>\n

\u201cA lot of people can just bring in movies too\u2026 As long as it\u2019s appropriate, we\u2019ll watch it,\u201d said Evelyn Lowe, president of the animation club.<\/p>\n

The Animation Club just hosted their annual costume contest, where the winner gets to take home a 3D-printed trophy of their mascot, Artie the Axolotl. Artie is also a big part of their recent fundraising goal. The Animation Club is working to take about 10 club members to the \u201cAnimation Y\u2019all\u201d convention in Tennessee this coming April.<\/p>\n

\u201cConnections like that are very important for being an animator,\u201d Lowe said.<\/p>\n

In the coming months, the Animation Club will be hosting many different fundraisers around campus for \u201cAnimation Y\u2019all,\u201d where students can work to make these important career connections.
