A big party is coming to the Regnier Center. Afro Boogie, hosted by the African Caribbean Student Association, will be held on Friday, Nov. 21, from 5:30 to 10 p.m. in room 101. A disco-themed night that promotes cultural exchange, community bonding, and artistic celebration.<\/p>\n

Authentic Caribbean and West African food will be provided from two local restaurants around the KCMO area, My Village Grill and Black Garlic Restaurant and Rum Bar. There will be a DJ playing all kinds of music like afrobeat, dancehall, amapiano and kompa. A photo booth will be set up at the event for students to have memories from the disco night.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019ll get in there and it\u2019s gonna be, like, neon type vibes. It\u2019s gonna be dark, colors all over the place, and everyone is going to be encouraged to dress up,\u201d says Megan Kinyae, President of ACSA. Dress up in disco attire from your country and show off your dance moves. The event is free for all JCCC students, but non-students must purchase a ticket here<\/a> for five dollars.<\/p>\n

African Caribbean Student Association (ACSA) is for students of ethnic backgrounds coming from all walks of life. Everyone is welcome to join their club. They play all kinds of games that can teach you about other cultures, or just fun games to play with a group of friends.
