Continuing their impressive and historic season, the women have been selected as the number 1 seed for the 2026 NJCAA DII Women’s Basketball Championship. They will face an, at this time, unknown opponent, on March 17 at 12 p.m.<\/p>\n
3\/7\/2026: Cavaliers Crush Neosho County In Region 6 Championship<\/b><\/p>\n
The JCCC women\u2019s basketball team has bagged a Region 6 Championship after breezing through Labette and Neosho County on Friday and Saturday, respectively. This puts them at 32 total wins this season, and they have their eyes set on the first perfect full season in program history.<\/p>\n
Standout players include Mia Adams, who put up 20 points for the cause, and Layla Scott, coming in with 12 points, four assists, and five rebounds. Right now, it\u2019s looking like the Cavaliers have everything they need to go out and make history.<\/p>\n
3\/6\/2026: JCCC Women\u2019s Basketball Starts Postseason Hot<\/b><\/p>\n
This afternoon, the Cavs won their first playoff game against Labette Community College in Kansas City, Kan. 82-63. Freshman Anonda Ford had a stand-out game, putting up a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Sophomore Layla Scott also made an impressive performance, sinking four three-pointers and five field-goals.<\/p>\n
The women\u2019s team has just finished their 3rd consecutive undefeated season, and are aiming to become back-to-back national champs.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are getting the right kinda players that fit into not only how we play, but how we operate. Your culture has to be on very solid footing to maintain this consistency,\u201d says women\u2019s basketball head coach Benjamin Conrad entering the postseason.<\/p>\n
Consistency is<\/i> key, and the women\u2019s basketball team has shown they know that for a third season in a row. We know that this program holds the capacity to have outstanding seasons and sit at the top of the conference year after year, so what feels different this time?<\/p>\n
\u201cI would say what feels a little different this time is just how smooth things have gone from start to finish. Aside from a few injuries and sicknesses, we\u2019ve had a pretty clean run during the regular season,\u201d says Conrad.<\/p>\n
Najya O\u2019neal made an incredible effort for Labette, giving JCCC a run for their money by putting up 28 points by sinking four threes and 10 field-goals.<\/p>\n
