The smell of freshly cooked eggs and fresh toppings filling the Student Center is unmistakable. Omelets are delicious, and a two-egg omelet with ham and cheese should be the go-to omelet for everyone. However, the Crack of Dawn Omelet Bar sponsored by The Market will allow you to choose your own toppings.<\/p>\n

The Market will host a pop-up omelet bar at the Student Center\u2019s first floor on the last Thursday of every month from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Two omelet bars are remaining: March 26th and April 30th.<\/p>\n

For $4.99, you can get a two-egg omelet with two toppings and a drink.<\/p>\n

\u201cFive bucks is a steal,\u201d said Torrin Mitchum, a student who attended the last omelet bar.<\/p>\n

Em Smail, Manager of Cafes at JCCC, said she wants to pull people in for breakfast at The Market. Plus, you can get free samples. At the last omelet bar, they had Mr. D\u2019s Donuts.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe omelet event is created to promote our market breakfast,\u201d she said. \u201cWe are also hosting sampling events at the same time as our omelet bar. So that’s the opportunity for people to know we have these items and we serve [them] at our coffee shops.\u201d<\/p>\n

More than just a breakfast, the omelet bar is meant to bring visibility for The Market.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you attend the omelet bar and purchase an omelet, you will get a complementary 15% off voucher that is good for any hot bar breakfast item at the Market,\u201d Smail said. \u201cI think that people don’t really know where The Market is. It\u2019s hidden in the corner of the Student Center.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to The Market Supervisor, Yun Jang, The Market is the only location on campus to get a hot breakfast.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Market serves breakfast from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.,\u201d said Jang.<\/p>\n

The omelet bar is promoting additional new menu items served at The Market.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have a variety of options between the waffles, biscuits and gravy. We have recently added a new menu item called the breakfast bowl. It comes with scrambled eggs, potatoes, gravy and cheese. But there is a variety that you can build it to the custom of your choices,\u201d Jang said.<\/p>\n

Word is getting out that breakfast is being served at The Market. The Messenger asked Kristan Wolford, a student at JCCC, what brought her to The Market.<\/p>\n

\u201cBiscuits and Gravy,\u201d she said. \u201cIt\u2019s really good.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dining Services is working to spread the word about The Market breakfast. Currently, there is no way to subscribe to a newsletter on the website. But there is a way to sign up for updates and specials.<\/p>\n

\u201cPart of our marketing efforts includes signing people up for our newsletter, which they can do by sending an email to dining@jccc.edu<\/a>,\u201d Jason Arnett, Assistant Director of Dining, said. \u201cThat email puts them on a list that they get weekly updates for specials and events that are happening in dining every week.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
