Community & Social

Take the opportunity to engage with
friends and colleagues.

1. Celebrate JCCC!

JCCC is hosting an all-staff picnic for you and your immediate family members as part of the 50th Anniversary Celebration on Friday, Sept. 6, beginning at 5 p.m. in the COM courtyard. There will be great food, fun and activities for all ages. RSVP by Friday, Aug. 16.

2. Donate blood

The Community Blood Center will be on campus on
Tuesday, Oct. 1, and Wednesday, Oct. 2, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the RC 101.

3. Share some food

Participate in a department potluck celebration. Some campus favorites have included Taco Tuesday, chili cook-offs and various holiday celebrations. Let’s face it — we all like to eat!

4. Bake a cake

Challenge another department to a cake war where each team designs, bakes and decorates a cake (or cookie cake). The best part? Everyone wins when it’s time to taste test! And you just might win an award for most delicious, best decorated or most creative. Be sure to take photos so we can share on JCCC social media!

5. Read and share

Start a book club with your department. You’ll learn something new about the book topic and each other. Some of our favorites include:
• “The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up” by Marie Kondo
• “Educated” by Tara Westover

6. Give back

Here are a few ideas to give to our JCCC community and beyond:
• Find a local nonprofit and volunteer with your team
• Help organize a food drive for the JCCC Food Pantry
• Build a house with Habitat for Humanity

7. Become the biggest JCCC fan around!

Whether it’s soccer or volleyball in the fall, or basketball games during the winter, root for our JCCC teams throughout the year!
