KANSAS NATIONAL EDUCATION ASSOCIATION

NATIONAL EDUCATION ASSOCIATION

PROFILE OF SERVICES

Johnson County Community College Faculty Association is a chartered local under Kansas NEA and NEA.  It was chartered in 1979 and has represented the individual and collective interests of its members for over 30 years.  JCCCFA/KNEA/NEA is also the exclusive bargaining agent under the Kansas Professional Negotiations Act

KNEA and NEA put the strength of 3.2 million members and the experience of more than 150 years of educational advocacy to work for faculty and staff.   KNEA represents over 1,000 higher education faculty members statewide, and NEA represents over 225,000 nationally.   No other professional organization or union can claim so long and strong a record of effective representation.

The cohesiveness of KNEA/NEA higher education membership is particularly important now in light of the constant challenges and threats to our professional and economic rights.  KNEA/NEA strongly supports the efforts of faculty and staff to safeguard intellectual freedom, professional integrity, tenure, and the right to a voice in academic governance.
