Enhancing Your Online Course with OSCQR Quality Standards

You can enhance your online courses with the 50 quality course standards used in the OSCQR 4.0 rubric. OSCQR is comprised of six categories covering: Overview and Information, Technology and Tools, Design and Layout, Content and Activities, Interaction, and Assessment and Feedback.

The process begins with an online Course Review using the OSCQR (Open SUNY Course Quality Review) Rubric, which has 50 standards and is designed to be conducted by a team that comprises a variety of perspectives. These include those of the online instructional designer, multimedia/technology specialist, librarian, instructor/subject matter expert, and/or peer. The OSCQR Rubric has a number of unique features, most notably the ease in which it can be customized to the needs of each campus or program by allowing for prioritization of the standards and creation of additional standards via a dashboard feature. The results generate analytics for the campus, as well as an action plan for the online course refresh process, which results in enhancements/improvements to the design of the course.

Below you will find several resources describing the OSCQR Process and the OSCQR Rubric.
