About

I’ve been teaching at JCCC since 1996.

I’ve got a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and a bachelor’s degree in English from The University of Missouri.  My master’s degree in English is also from MU.  In 1999, I received a PhD in English from The University of Kansas.

In addition to teaching at JCCC, I’ve also taught at MU, KU, and KCKCC.

I was one of the first professors in the English department at JCCC to teach online classes.  Usually I teach 3-4 of my 5 classes each semester online.  I’ve taught a total of eight different online classes.  Of those eight I was the first to create and teach Composition 2, Major British Writers, Introduction to Poetry, and Masterpieces of the Cinema online.   In addition to those courses, I’ve also taught Composition 1, Introduction to Literature, Introduction to Fiction, and Mass Media and Society online.

I enjoy reading, watching movies, traveling, and bicycling.

I live in Northeast Johnson County with my wife and two sons.
