ACCCESS Fellows

This year two JCCC math faculty were selected by AMATYC, the American Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges, to be Project ACCCESS Fellows.  The two honorees are Donna Helgeson and Kathleen Lefert, both assistant professors of mathematics.

ACCCESS stands for Advancing Community College Careers: Education, Scholarship, Service.  Project ACCCESS is a professional development program offered by AMATYC to roughly 20 full-time math faculty who are in the first few years of their career.  Each Fellow receives significant financial support to attend two consecutive AMATYC national conferences.  Each also designs and prepares a project for presentation at the second conference.  This year’s conference was held last week in Austin, Texas.

Two other JCCC math faculty are alumni of Project ACCCESS, Brenda Edmonds and Beth Edmonds.
