Executive Director, Inclusion and Belonging

The DEI Committee and DEI strategy teams recommended that that college create a specific position and function to promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging at JCCC.

Folks noted that the college needed an expert to guide the work of bolstering inclusion and belonging—and student success—to act as a campus-wide resource, coordinate work, and work collaboratively with the campus and broader community.

In 2022, the Board of Trustees approved the college’s budget, which included strategic planning monies to be spent on the requested position(s) and function.

Throughout the spring, summer and fall of 2022 a working group, which included members of the DEI Committee and DEI strategy teams, identified the roles of the DEI function and crafted a job description for the newly created Executive Director, Inclusion and Belonging.

The job was posted in January of 2023, the search committee has been formed, and the search is commencing.
