Sabbatical Leaves

A sabbatical leave may be granted for any activity which, in the judgment of the Board of Trustees, will contribute to personal and professional growth. Sabbatical leaves are available to all full-time faculty and salaried staff after six years of full-time employment.

  • It will be the responsibility of the staff member to demonstrate clearly how a particular work, study, or travel plan will accomplish this objective.
  • The proposal will be set forth in writing on such forms as the administration shall from time to time determine.

  • Applications are due in October; check application for exact date
  • Sabbatical Committee interviews and recommendations take place in November
  • Board of Trustee Action in December

Approval:  A Faculty committee conducts the sabbatical process.  Committees forward recommendations to the president, who forwards the decision to the Board for final approval.
Obligations:   A written report is due three months after returning from the sabbatical.
