Seattle-based artist Preston Singletary is our keynote speaker, and his band Khu’eex’ will play a concert Thursday night in the Polsky Theatre adjacent to the Nerman.

Registration opens August 1, concert tickets for the general public go on sale August 6.

4:30-5:30 p.m. Explore interdisciplinary connections and design your own miniature furniture sculpture with foam core and an LED component. No previous art experience is necessary.

5:30-6:45 p.m. Continue working in the classroom, we will transition to our drop-in art studio activity from 5:45-6:45 p.m. All ages welcome!

6:00-7 p.m. Enjoy hors d’oeuvres and refreshments in the Museum Atrium, cash bar.

7:00-8 p.m. Lecture in Hudson Auditorium by KCAI alum Michael Rees.

JCCC is hosting an unforgettable 2018 summer conference for K-12 educators interested in learning arts integration strategies from Kennedy Center teaching artists Melanie Rick, Randy Barron and Sean Layne. Teams of art education specialists and classroom teachers are encouraged to attend together! This program is organized by the Kansas City Metro Arts Collaborative. Interested in turning STEM into STEAM? Join Nerman Museum educators and artist Bridget Stewart for an engaging program. Faculty participants from any high school discipline are welcome to attend along with JCCC faculty partners in Nursing, Biology, English, and Administration of Justice.
