Swing doors have hands, that is, which side they’re hung on and which way they swing. The viewer stands in the corridor or outside the building, looking at the door. If the door is hinged on her left and swings away from her, it’s a left hand door. If it’s hinged on her right and swings away from her, it’s a right hand door. If it’s hinged on her left and swings toward her, it’s a left hand reverse. If it’s hinged on her right and swings toward her, it’s a right hand reverse.
