Julane Crabtree, professor of mathematics, was approved for a sabbatical during the fall semester of 2012. During that time, she will be investigating the characteristics of successful online students. Her work will include surveying both successful and unsuccessful students, interviewing faculty about their challenges and strategies, contacting institutions with successful programs, and researching the literature.
