AMATYC Leaders

Two JCCC mathematics faculty are currently serving as leaders in the American Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges (AMATYC).

Beth Edmonds, associate professor of mathematics, has been appointed chairperson of the AMATYC Placement and Assessment Committee.  This committee serves as a resource to the AMATYC membership on the issues related to student placement, assessment of student outcomes, and assessment of mathematical programs.  Professor Edmonds previously served as the Central Region representative on that committee.  Her current position is a two-year term that will run through the end of 2013.

Steven Wilson, professor of mathematics, has been appointed Editing Director of AMATYC.  This position coordinates the editing of position statements for the organization.  Professor Wilson previously served as the Central Region Vice President of AMATYC.  His current position is a three-year term that will run through the end of 2014.
