Innovation Award

Brenda Edmonds, associate professor of mathematics, was awarded the 2012 Innovation of the Year Award for her work as co-director of the JCCC Office of Outcomes Assessment.  Her colleague Lori Slavin, associate professor of science and co-director of the office, was co-recipient of the award.

Edmonds and Slavin began their collaboration two years ago, and have effectively implemented the redesigned outcomes assessment process on the JCCC campus.  The summary of their project, “Re-inventing Outcomes Assessment”, was the basis on which the award was made.  The award is sponsored by the League for Innovation in the Community College, and includes the opportunity to travel to their conference.
