The graduating/recruitment showcase was introduced in 2000. After years of attending the University of Kansas Graphic Design Graduating Show and the Kansas City Art Institutes’ Graphic Design graduate exhibition, I decided that our program at JCCC was good enough to showcase the graduates’ work and invite the industry. I reached out to industry leaders, obtaining their support and willingness to attend. Their belief was that the programs’ reputation would grow and more graduates would be placed.
This yearly endeavor is executed along with student volunteers as part of the Graphic Design Club which I am also sponsor. Much effort goes in on the branding for each year.
