“I Can Do It With a Broken Heart” by Taylor Swift

It’s so hard for me to pick a favorite song of 2024, but one of my favorites this year was definitely “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart” by Taylor Swift. The song is extremely catchy, and the lyrics are very well written. Although I’ve never been through a breakup, which is what Taylor is referencing during the song, I find the song very relatable. I love the meaning behind the song that everyone has hard days, and we all go through struggles. As she says, sometimes  “you gotta fake it till you make it till you make it, and I did”.  Overall, I just love the whole vibe of the song, and it’s definitely another track that yet again, Taylor slayed!

“Ice Attack” by Future and Metro Boomin

It’s a great song to listen to while working out, and has a nice change of pace about one minute in.The lyrics flow well with the instrumentals, and the song is a good length as well.

“Sunset Silhouette” by Strings and Heart.

My favorite song released in 2024 is “Sunset Silhouette” by Strings and Heart. I have a fairly new relationship with this artist, but I have fallen in love with their music. I love this song because it transports me to the beach in the summer with all my friends. I also love the lyrics. It’s just such a happy song.

“TEXAS HOLD ‘EM” by Beyoncé

My favorite song of 2024 was “TEXAS HOLD ‘EM” by Beyoncé. I loved the entire Cowboy Carter album, but this song in particular was one my friends and I listened to almost the entire time on our road trip to Dallas, so it holds a special place in my heart. I also grew up listening to Beyoncé, so pretty much any song of hers I love.

“Epic” by Jorge Rivera-Herrans

In 2024 I discovered this new musical. My friends one day played it in the car, and it was really good. So I went home that night and decided to listen to all of what was out, and I fell in love. The musical is titled “Epic”, and it’s based on Homer’s The Odyssey, a Greek Myth. Jorge, the composer and lead voice, released the musical into parts, in which he called “Sagas”. I started listening when the first 5 were already out, so I’m not totally an “OG” fan. I continued falling in love with this musical, new songs released about every 2 months, only ending in December of last year, it was an exciting way to keep it fresh. As of today, I still listen to it almost daily, the way Jorge composed these songs is very reminiscent of “Hamilton” to anyone who is a fan. I have already convinced several friends and family to listen to it, and they love it almost as much as I do. There are many types of songs within the musical, so I’m sure everybody will find at least one that they adore. I will continue to tell people about this musical, as it really has changed my life.

“I Never Lie” by Zach Top

My favorite song that came out in 2024 is “I Never Lie” by Zach Top. I stayed up late to listen to Top’s album, Cold Beer &Country Music, when it debuted in April of 2024. As soon as I heard the song, I instantly knew it was going to be a huge hit for him. A month later, I got to see him in concert in Kansas City. I knew I was correct in my earlier thinking when everyone in the crowd sang along the loudest to “I Never Lie.” The song has only become even more popular since then.

“Bodyguard” by Beyoncé

Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter is possibly one of my favorite albums of all time, let alone of the last year which meant I always knew the singer of my song of 2024 would be but truly struggled between what song to pick, but in the end “Bodyguard” won out. I’ve always had a love for the southern rock sounds of groups like Fleetwood Mac, Tom Petty, and the Heartbreakers, and this song just has a way of itching that scratch I’ve been having. From that bass line to Beyoncé’s vocals, it’s a hard song not to nod your head or tap your foot to. It’s the perfect song for speeding down the highway at night, if you get my drift.
