This week, the Johnson County Community College student lounge was abuzz with excitement as students gathered for a FIFA 25 tournament hosted by Student Life. The event drew gaming enthusiasts from across campus and offered a chance to compete in one of the most popular soccer video games on the market.

JCCC is now 18-11 overall, 5-1 in conference play, and will face No. 23 Kansas City Kansas Community College on Thursday at 2 p.m.

Softball Student Night is all about bringing the JCCC community together to support student athletes and showcase Cavalier pride. Last Wednesday, the Cavs faced off against the Cardinals in their first game of the Spring Season. The first half started off hot, and it didn’t take long for the Cardinals to get the first goal of the game.
To recognize the team’s incredible accomplishment, JCCC is hosting a celebration on Friday, March 28 at 12 p.m. Students, professors, and fans are encouraged to attend and show their appreciation for the players and coaches who made history this season.
The JCCC Cavaliers are your 2025 NJCAA DII Women’s Basketball Champions, after going 34-1 this season. Their effort and hard work paid off and they got the title to show for it.

The Women’s team will play at 9 a.m. (CT) on Tuesday, March 18. They will play the winner of the #13 vs. #20 game. The Men’s team will play at 8 p.m. (CT) on Monday, March 17 against Macomb Community College, the #6 seed.
Right across from the T-Mobile Center, the Kansas City Power & Light District will host the Miller Lite Fan Fest, offering free entry to an all-day basketball celebration experience. Fans can enjoy live entertainment, daily spirit rallies, giveaways and prizes, interactive games, and, most importantly, live streaming of the tournament on the big screen.
“I thought our guys played well on Monday. Great start to the postseason but we also know that it is going to get tougher each step of the way,” said men’s basketball coach Rand Chappell.
Johnson County Community College has had amazing sports teams throughout the seasons. Women’s Basketball is no exception, the team is currently undefeated. You can support our teams by attending games or watching from the JCCC athletics website.
The Cavs have an ongoing 60-home game winning streak. The last time the Cavs lost at home was March 22, 2022 to Morton College.
“This is a great place to work and a great place to live, and most importantly, it’s been a great place to raise my kids,” Conrad said. “JCCC has been very loyal to me over the years, and I think I’m smart enough to know the grass is not always greener elsewhere.”

“As a coach, I feel like our department consists of highly competitive and motivated coaches who love to teach, mentor, and help the student-athletes reach their goals,” women’s volleyball coach,” Jennifer Ei said. “We have been very fortunate to be successful across all of our programs in athletics.”
The Cavaliers had an outstanding season with 30 wins and seven losses. They also had an amazing tournament run in search of their third national championship.
“[I’m]proud to have our student-athletes represent JCCC both on campus and in the community. Our student-athletes work extremely hard and put in a lot of extra time and energy to be successful.”
“These milestone wins have seemed to come late in the year, so most years, I’m so locked in on our stretch run, I don’t think I really feel anything,” Conrad said.
