Strap in for another classic as The Lady Cavaliers take on the Kansas City Kansas Community College (KCKCC) Blue Devils in what is bound to be a sight to behold. The contest will be held on campus February 8th, 2:00 P.M CST. With an 83-0 win streak, the Cavs look to extend an impressive dominion over another conference rival. Through an amped up season, Coach Ben Conrad was able to give his insight on this feat, as well as how the team is going to handle the added pressure of playing a heated rival in KCKCC.

“It’s not easy,” Coach Conrad began. “I think we just have to believe that we have the maturity as a group to really understand that each game has its own unique challenge.”

With this emphasis on team mentality, Coach Conrad has ensured that the team stays focused.

“Honestly, we don’t talk about streaks or anything of that nature,” Conrad said. “We try really hard to stay focused on each day and the work that must be done.”

This focus has led the Lady Cavs to win after win, with no signs of slowing down. A major highlight to such a strong showing is freshman guard Layla Scott, who has averaged 18.6 points in her last 6 games, along with a staggering 44.2 field goal percentage.

“Layla is just a tremendously talented and skilled guard,” Conrad exclaimed. “She gets a lot of attention from our opponents, so for her to continue to put up numbers is really amazing for a freshman.”

We are inching closer and closer to this showdown of schools, and JCCC is looking to use that elite mentality to win this upcoming game. With their streak alive and their focus narrowed, the team seems to be looking forward to an exciting game and a strong season.
