The Lady Cavaliers sealed another win over Highland College, reaching the #2 seed in the NJCAA Division II rankings, but there’s more to the win for Coach Ben Conrad. With the win, Conrad reached 500 career wins, with 442 of those wins being at Johnson County Community College. 

“These milestone wins have seemed to come late in the year, so most years, I’m so locked in on our stretch run, I don’t think I really feel anything,” Conrad said. 

Conrad also highlighted his National Championship win from the 2014-2015 season as another of his favorite memories, believing it was his 300th win.

He also took time to give appreciation for those who’ve helped him along his coaching journey. While there were no specific names, he remains grateful to all who’ve worked with him and played for him. When asked about the key element of being an exceptional coach, Conrad emphasized the importance of recruiting. 

“Nothing else matters if you don’t have talent,” Conrad said. “Everything flows from that starting point.” 

With a monumental win and a full focus on the season, Conrad is looking to push his team into the playoffs once again.
