For all shows hosted by the Midwest Trust Center theater during this 2025 season, JCCC students will only need to pay $5. This special offer allows students to get seating for some of the best live performances in the Kansas City area. 

“The Midwest Trust Center feels strongly that JCCC students should have the opportunity to experience world-class performances while pursuing their education,” Janell Rinne, marketing coordinator for the Midwest Trust Center, said. “We want to remove some of the barriers that keep students from attending shows, and price is often a factor.”

Students are encouraged to take advantage of this deal all throughout the year, with this February having multiple shows offering this student discount, including the “Addams Family” musical on Feb. 21, the Alisa Amador Trio on Feb. 22, and the Grammy winning performers the Imani Winds and Boston Brass on Feb. 23. JCCC is one of the only schools in the Kansas City area to offer such a deal, giving students a unique opportunity. 

“Most organizations offer student rush tickets, but we offer $5 tickets to JCCC students the Monday before a performance so that [in most cases] they can plan more than a day ahead and enjoy a night out,” Rinne said. “Students can purchase up to two tickets with a valid Student ID so that they can bring anyone of their choosing; it’s fun to see a show with a friend, family member, etc. so the Midwest Trust Center does our best to make sure you have a good time while you’re here.”
