This Friday, the Midwest Trust Center will be hosting a production of the hit musical “Addams Family” from director Antoinette Dipietropolo. Based on the characters of cartoonist Charles Addams, this production will bring the iconic family here to Overland Park.
“It’s about our special family in particular. And Wednesday has met someone that she’s interested in,” Actor Rodrigo Aragon (Gomez Addams) said. “So his family comes over to meet and they are what we could call a normal family. So you can imagine what can happen when two very different families get to meet and have to interact.”
Playing the Yardley Hall, tickets are available online or at the box office located in the MTC. Prices vary, but JCCC students can enter for as low as $5. This production is one of 70 cities they plan to visit, and gives a perfect opportunity to see a little bit of Broadway locally.
“ First of all, the talent really is amazing. I’m blessed. The guys are amazing. Being able to share the stage with them is… How could I put it? It’s joy,” Aragon said. “What I keep hearing from the audience, and people that just saw the play, they keep on telling me, ‘Hey, I’ve been to Broadway many times. I went to see 40, 100, 20, 100, 200 shows and this has nothing to envy them.’”
