Major Winning Streaks in College Basketball

As the Women’s Basketball regular season comes to an end, the Cavs finish the regular season 30-0 after beating Hesston College 82-33. The Cavs have an ongoing 60-home game winning streak. The last time the Cavs lost at home was March 22, 2022 to Morton College.

Not many basketball programs even come close to this kind of home winning streak. There are some crazy stats of home winning streaks in college basketball, like when UConn women’s basketball was almost unstoppable for around 10 years. They had a stretch where they won 111 straight games, and they were at home or away or in the National Championship, they didn’t lose for three years.

Some other remarkable stats from college basketball: Back in 1943 to 1955, Kentucky men’s basketball never lost a home basketball game in 129 games. They won the National Championship three times in the span of that home winning streak.

The Cavs still have their streak intact for another season, and show no signs of breaking it any time soon.

Travis Kelce Analysis Over the Past Three Years, Does He Still Have What it Takes?

After Super Bowl LIX, there was a heavy debate on whether Tight End Travis Kelce would be retiring from the NFL, or returning to the Kansas City Chiefs. Kelce has been a staple to the Chiefs’ dynasty after being a third round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, but does it look like Travis Kelce is starting to slow down?

This past season he had 984 receiving yards. This was his first time under 1,000 yards since 2015, but just barely. He also only had a total of five touchdowns in the regular season. Which is a steep decline from his 2022 season with 12. We have also been seeing fewer explosive plays, averaging 10.6 yards per catch, which is his lowest since his early career.

While the statistics show numbers have gone down, Kelce remained a key offensive weapon for the Kansas City Chiefs during the 2024 season. He was a top TE in the league despite these declines, and proved to be a vital playoff weapon yet again, with three touchdowns in three games, helping the Chiefs to a third straight Super Bowl appearance.

Even with these declines in stats, Kelce clearly has no intentions of stepping back, as he announced last week he isn’t going anywhere. Is he still a valuable asset who can get the Chiefs to another Super Bowl? Or is it time for him to hang up the cleats?
