Graduation is quickly approaching and the JCCC Bookstore has an event for you. On April 9 and 10, the JCCC Bookstore is hosting Grad Fair 2025, an event designed to help you get graduation ready. This will include booths from different JCCC departments, fun activities, discounts on regalia bundles, snacks, and more.

“The Grad Fair event is where we try to organize with all the departments, some kind of fun event for students and show how we care about them,” Bookstore Operations Supervisor, Karina Blond said. “For example, we collaborate with the CoLab and see what they’re doing, and we collaborate with Continued Education, and talk about where to go after they graduate, and the same with the Career Development.” 

The Book Store also plays a huge role in the event.

“From the bookstore side, we offer try on sizes for regalia, so they can try on, and we also offer discounted regalia, $29.99 will be bundled for regalia and tassel, so they can try it on and buy it and wear to their graduations,” Blond said. “Also we offer different gift selections and stuff like this, so they can just shop with us.” 

Along with the different departments present and discounts offered at the event, there will also be a lot of fun activities. 

“We’ll have a photo booth, we’ll have a cap decoration station, where we will provide different supplies for cap decorating, and students can be engaged and just decorate their cap,” Blond said. 

She also mentioned that this year, the event will have a giveaway. 

“[Students] will receive a passport and they have to visit each booth and get a small sticker from every booth, put them on the passport, put their name on it and then they get a chance to participate and win our fun graduation giveaway,” Blond said. 

Blond, who has been in charge of the event for five years, tries to reinvent it each graduation season.

“It’s always been a big party, but each time we try to engage with different departments, maybe bring new departments, like for example, Continued Education. We’ve never had Continued Education before and we’re very excited to have them, to bring catering and offer some sweets and treats for students as well.”

The event is of course open to students who will graduate this semester, but other students are encouraged to come as well. 

“It’s a great party for grads, we’re celebrating grads, and not only grads, we want them to bring their friends, maybe people who will be graduating next year,” Blond said. They can see how this event is fun and how it’s fun to be at JCCC, and they will be very excited to come here next year and also participate in our Grad Fair.” 

Grad Fair 2025 will take place on April 9 and 10 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm in and around the JCCC Bookstore.
