Hey Cavs! It’s nearing time for this year’s annual Cavalier Kickoff! “What’s that?” you might ask. Well, I’m here to answer all your burning questions about this can’t-miss event.
First and foremost, Cav Kickoff will be happening on September 10 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m, stretching from Fountain Square in front of the library, to the Commons Courtyard in front of the COM building. Now, what is the point of Cav Kickoff?
“Cav Kickoff is a long-standing campus tradition that kicks off the fall semester and gives students a good idea of campus resources and involvement opportunities,” JCCC’s manager of Student Activities, Cassie Jordan said.
Students can expect over 40 different 4-year colleges and universities to be in attendance, set up at their designated tables, ready to provide students with information on enrollment, major programs, etc. We will also be seeing various JCCC clubs and departments looking to help students get involved on campus as well. If you have been looking for an opportunity to grow as a student, find new career paths, or just meet new people, this is it, Cavs.
If you happen to be all set up with clubs and your next college, or just want to blow off some steam and have fun, there will be a plethora of activities to participate in. These include but are not limited to, karaoke, a mechanical bull, and a performance by JCCC’s Golden Girls dance team at 11:50. After all of these fun things, you might find yourself in need of a quick snack/drink, in which case you can head over to Jack’s Kettle Corn Truck or grab a snowcone from the Kona Ice truck.
Come stop by The Messenger’s booth to learn more about opportunities with us. We hope to see you there!
