The Johnson County Community College theatre program is performing their first play of the fall semester, ‘The Moors’ by Jen Silverstein. A story about two sisters and a dog living on the English moors whose lives get thrown onto a dangerous path with the arrival of a hapless governess and a moorhen.
“I’m so excited! This is my favorite show I’ve ever been in,” Erin Oyster, who plays the governess Emillie, said.
Students involved have been working on this play for months, with auditions being held back in May 2025.
“Pre-production started around April. From April to September, it’s been a longer process than some of our other shows,” Drama Gurd Gregory Jackson, who is in charge of putting together historical context, said.
You can see the play this weekend Sept. 19-21 and Sept. 26-28 in the Bodker Black Box Theatre. Check out this link for more information.
