Women’s Soccer Keeps Winning

The Johnson County Community College women’s soccer team is unstoppable. With a perfect record, they are on pace to beat their previous all-time win/loss record of 17-2. This week, the Cavilers beat Southeast Community College and Kansas City Kansas Community College in two very different matches.

The team steamrolled Southeast Community College, winning 15-0, a near unheard of scoreline in soccer. The Cavs followed up this performance with a much tighter win against KCKCC, 2-0.

This week the women will be presented with one of their toughest challenges yet. On Wednesday Oct. 1, the JCCC women’s soccer team visit St Charles Community College at 2:30 p.m. St Charles has a record of 11-0-1. While a tough test, the Cavilers will be able to relax a bit more during this Saturday’s game against Allen County Community College at 2 p.m. Allen County’s women’s soccer record is 4-3-1.

Unfortunately for passionate Caviler fans, both women’s soccer games are away this week; however, it won’t be too long till the Cavs are back home in the JCCC Soccer Complex the following week.

Women’s Volleyball Faces Ups And Downs

The past two weeks have been a roller coaster for the JCCC Women’s Volleyball team, but they came out of it with more wins than losses.

The Cavs played Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference foe Cowley County Community College Tigers at home on Sept. 17, getting swept in three straight sets, 24-26, 23-25, 19-25.

Two Days later, the Cavaliers bounced back and beat the Central Community College Raiders from Columbus, Nebraska. 3-1.  Ava Esser led the team with 17 kills, out of the team’s 64.

JCCC Women’s Volleyball Prepares For Key October Matchups

The Johnson County Community College women’s volleyball team is gearing up for two critical conference matchups next week. The Cavaliers will face Coffeyville Community College on Wednesday, Oct. 1 at 6 p.m., followed by a showdown with Highland Community College on Friday, Oct. 3, also at 6 p.m. Both matches are part of the KJCCC regular-season schedule and will be hosted at home.

Men’s Soccer Looking To Turn Things Around

Following a grueling schedule, Johnson County men’s soccer team is looking for a possible turnaround approaching midseason.

Last Wednesday, the JCCC men’s soccer team hosted Southeast Community College in an evenly balanced match where the Cavaliers found themselves toiling to even the score twice. Both teams fought hard but had to settle for a 2-2 draw after 90 minutes. Freshman defender, Jarret Pecher, and his two assists helped Johnson County secure its third draw of the season.

Saturday, the men tied again, this time against Kansas City Kansas Community College, after losing a 3-1 lead they held in the first half.

The Johnson County men’s soccer team looks to rebound Wednesday when the Cavaliers hit the road to play against St. Charles Community College at 4 p.m. To top off next week’s schedule, JCCC will face off against Allen County in a conference matchup. JCCC comfortably beat Allen County 3-0 at home at the beginning of the season, but this time around Allen will host Johnson County.
