Men’s Soccer Facing Two Important Matchups
The Johnson County Community College men’s soccer team is preparing for two important matchups this week. The Cavaliers will host Central Community College-Columbus on Tuesday, Oct. 7 at 5:30 p.m., followed by a home game against Neosho County Community College on Saturday, Oct. 11 at 7:00 p.m. Both contests will take place in Overland Park as part of the 2025–26 regular season schedule.
Central CC-Columbus is known for a disciplined, defensive style that usually often forces close, low-scoring matches. Neosho County, meanwhile, brings a faster-paced attack, with quick transitions that can test opposing defenses.
Fans can follow live stats and stream the games through the JCCC Athletics website, which offers updates on rosters, results, and conference standings. With both games carrying implications for conference momentum, these matchups are shaping up to be must-watch events for Cavaliers supporters.

After handing No. 5-ranked St. Charles Community College its first loss of the season in a comfortable comeback victory and defeating Allen County 3-1, JCCC women’s soccer looks to maintain its perfect conference record (6-0).
The Cavaliers will have their work cut out for them as they prepare for two conference matchups this upcoming week. The Cavaliers will travel to Highland Community College on Wednesday, Oct. 8th at 4 p.m. before returning home in a rematch against Neosho next Saturday, Oct. 11 at 5 p.m.

Be sure to keep an eye on sophomore Brecken Hoy who leads the Cavaliers in scoring (10 goals) and assists (6).

Women’s Volleyball Sweeps Highland Community College
The Women’s Volleyball Cavaliers dominated on Friday, Oct. 3, sweeping the Highland Scotties 3-0 in a performance defined by high-efficiency hitting. The team racked up 43 kills on 88 total swings, posting an impressive kill percentage of .398 for the night.
Freshman outside hitter Ava Esser set the tone early for the Cavs. She had 11 kills on 20 swings, ending the match with a superb .450 kill percentage. Esser was a force on defense as well, contributing 10 digs and 4 blocks.
Middle blocker Avery Ringgenberg produced big numbers on limited attempts. Ringgenberg finished with 8 kills on 14 swings, good for a phenomenal .571 kill percentage. She is also a force on the net with five blocks. Together, Esser and Ringgenberg accounted for 42% of the team’s total points in the match.
Setter Campbell Chabot continued her stellar run, dishing out 35 assists on the night. This marks her sixth consecutive game with 30 or more assists, showcasing her high volleyball IQ in running the offense. Chabot also chipped in with 5 kills on 8 swings, 7 digs, and 2 blocks.
The defensive effort was led by outside Brooke Boyer, who posted a match-high 16 digs. (1) Libero, Carlie Martin added 7 digs to the back-row effort.
Defensive depth was evident at the net, with Lauren Roediger adding five blocks, along with five kills on the offensive end.
The Women’s volleyball team will be on the road for their next match, taking on Independence Community College on Tuesday, Oct. 7 at 6:30 p.m.
