JCCC Volleyball Enters Their Last Four Games Of The Regular Season
There are only four games left for the Johnson County Community College women’s volleyball team over the next three weeks, but maybe you can’t attend all of them. Which game(s) should you attend? Are any of the last four games important for our Lady Cavaliers? Let’s look at a couple of things.
First, our women’s team has been great this year, boasting a current win-loss record of 18-7. That is a win percentage of 72%. Conference games are where wins matter most though, and the women have done pretty well in this regard, too, winning 5 out of 7 games so far. Taking a quick glance at the rest of the season, the JCCC women’s volleyball team has two conference and two non-conference games left.
The remaining schedule reads:
- Wednesday, Oct. 15, Kansas City Kansas Community College at JCCC (conference game). See more about this game below.
- Wednesday, Oct. 22, MidAmerican Nazarene University JV at JCCC.
- Saturday, Oct. 25, JCCC plays at home versus Central Methodist University JV.
- On Wednesday, Oct. 29, in the last game of the regular season, JCCC will visit Fort Scott Community College (conference game).
So, which of these games will prove to be the toughest challenge for our Lady Cavs?
The toughest game will undoubtedly be the first of our two conference games, KCK Community College. They have a record of 18-3 and are 6-0 so far in conference play. The only other potential “tough” competition would be that following Wednesday, Oct. 22, against MidAmerican Nazarene University’s JV volleyball squad. These women have an overall record of 10-5, and while technically a “Junior Varsity” squad, these JV women still won’t go down easily. The two final games should be two of our easiest games all year. With equally bad play, Central Methodist University’s JV volleyball squad hasn’t won a game all year, granted they’ve only played 8 total games, and Fort Scott Community College has gone 3-21 overall and hasn’t won a single conference game all season.

JCCC Volleyball to Face Rival KCKCC in Pink Out Match
Johnson County Community College’s women’s volleyball team will face off against rival Kansas City Kansas Community College (KCKCC) on Wednesday, Oct. 15. The match, part of a long-standing regional rivalry, will take place at JCCC.
In conjunction with the game, Student Activities is organizing a “Student Night Pink Out” to raise awareness for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Students are encouraged to attend wearing pink to support both the team and the cause. The event aims to highlight the importance of early detection and community support during breast cancer awareness initiatives.
According to the JCCC volleyball schedule, the game is one of the final home matches of the season, adding competitive significance as postseason play approaches.
Details for the Pink Out event, including time and student engagement opportunities, are available through the JCCC Campus Labs event page.
This game combines athletic competition with a social cause, making it a key event for both the team and the campus community.

JCCC Men’s Soccer Looks To Close Out The Regular Season On A High Note Following Disappointing Week
The Cavaliers’ men’s soccer team had only two games last week. The first was a 2-0 loss against Central Community College-Columbus at home. The loss dropped the 15th-ranked Cavaliers’ overall record to 8-3-3.
The Cav’s defense was stout during the first half of the game, ending 0-0, with both teams taking 8 shots on goal in the half. That defense wouldn’t last for the Cavs, though, as Raiders player Rodrigo Geet scored in the 59th minute against goalie Daniel Wozniak. The Raiders’ other goal came from the foot of Kristof Nemeth in the 81st minute. With the win, Central Community College improved to 8-4-2 on the season overall.
Johnson County played its last home game of the season on Saturday, tying No. 5 Neosho County Community College, 2-2.
This week, on Wednesday, Oct. 15, the Cavaliers travel to Pratt, Kansas, to take on the Pratt Community College Beavers. The Beavers enter the match 3-6-2 on the season. Following that game, the Cavaliers travel to Nebraska to take on the Southeast Community College Bobcats on Saturday, Oct. 18 The Cavaliers then end the regular season next Wednesday, Oct. 22, with a short trip over to Kansas City, Kansas Community College to take on the Blue Devils.
