Peace of mind, and help at the touch of a button–that’s what the RAVE Guardian app can provide. Campus threats, severe weather, medical emergencies and more, you’re covered. The JCCC Campus Police force has made campus safety easy. The Guardian app is a simple and free resource right on your phone for every situation.
The RAVE Guardian app is one of the most effective campus safety resources.
“It is an app that you can put on your phone. What’s nice about it is, when you become a student here at the college, you will be automatically opted in,” Dan Robles, a crime prevention officer, said.
Even if you do not download the Guardian app, you will still receive alerts about drills, active situations or weather threats through the text messaging app. However, downloading the app is beneficial for the unique features it offers, like 911 and campus police speed dial, a text line to campus police and information on response plans. The Guardian app is free, and most carriers allow the app.
“And it doesn’t always have to be threats like a violent intruder. It could be something to do with a water main break or inclement/severe weather,” Robles said.
In case of a situation with a violent intruder, the campus police force asks that you follow ALICE training.
