Aperture. Harry Styles. Two of my interests, photography and Harry Styles, in one place, and I couldn’t be more excited. I have impatiently waited for new music from Styles since 2022, after the release of Harry’s House, and it’s going to be hard to top that album, in my opinion.
My first time listening to Aperture left me slightly disappointed, but it was still so Harry Styles. It’s very different from what he’s released in the past, but the more I listen to it, the more it’s grown on me. With how unique it is, it definitely gets me excited for what curveballs will be thrown with his March 6th release of the album “Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally.” Aperture probably won’t be making it onto my playlists, but I won’t skip it if I hear it on the radio.

This Harry Styles song is good. That’s a sentence I didn’t think I’d ever find myself saying, since I tend to have a negative bias towards any and all mainstream pop music, but that’s another story. Now I’m no Harry Styles expert, but from what I’ve heard from “Aperture,” I can tell that he has certainly branched out a little.
With the first song of Styles’ upcoming album, “Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally,” we can catch a glimpse of what to expect from the full release. Of course, typical pop-music elements are still present; some repetitive yet catchy lyrics, a consistent head-nodding beat and electronic instrumentals.
Making a welcome introduction are some interesting, almost robotic-sounding vocals for the intro and verses. A fitting addition, if you ask me. We can also hear some laser synths in the background, inducing a sort of trance-like listening experience. This song paints an image of strobe lights, lasers and smoke effects in a large, dark room with an enormous crowd. Peaceful, yet erratic. This is a very unique song.
