Maureen Fitzpatrick, professor of English, presented “The Edge of Future Literacies” at the 2018 TYCA Midwest Conference, Oct. 11-13, in Indianapolis. Fitzpatrick’s interactive presentation focused on different definitions and categories of literacy, including digital literacy, universal literacy, creative literacy, and literacy across disciplines. Participants discussed changing expectations of literacy since the introduction of the Internet and favorite digital tools to use in the classroom.
Fitzpatrick has also recently become the Kansas Representative for TYCA.
