Ted Rollins, professor of English, will give a presentation titled, “How Can We Promote the Transfer of Learning by Our Students across Contexts?” at 1pm, Friday, Nov. 9 in the CoLab. Rollins will discuss the extent to which students can “transfer” or apply their writing knowledge and skills from one context (such as a composition course) to another (such as a course in their major or a writing project for their profession). He will also cover pedagogical strategies to help students make important connections as writers.
