Math Expo Presenters

Several JCCC math department faculty made presentations at the 22nd Annual Kansas City Regional Mathematics Technology Expo.  The Expo was held October 5-6, 2012, at the University of Missouri – Kansas City.

  • Brian Balman, professor of mathematics, who was a panelist (along with Richard Gill from Blue Valley High School, and Gavin Waters from Missouri Western State University) for the discussion “Concerning the Joint Statement of NCTM and MAA on College Calculus”
  • Libby Corriston, professor of mathematics, who presented the session “A Successful Novice Camtasia Project – If I can do it, so can you!”
  • Rob Grondahl, associate professor of mathematics, who presented the session “Creating a Mathematica Demonstration from Scratch”
  • Chris Imm, professor of mathematics, who presented the session “Using Microsoft Excel to Explore Mathematics”
  • Dennis Robbins, adjunct professor of mathematics, who presented the workshop “Using Geogebra for Data Analysis”
  • Steven Wilson, professor of mathematics, who co-presented (with Janna Willnauer from JCCC Access Services) the session “Listen … Your Math is Speaking – with MathPlayer!”

Three JCCC math department faculty are on the Planning Committee for the Expo.  They are Libby Corriston, Rob Grondahl, and Steven Wilson.
