Verity

YuJa Verity is the new proctoring software we will be using for proctoring online assessments. It has many of the same functionalities as Respondus and can allow for more customized settings and a flagging system which should make proctoring exams easier for our faculty. Below, find some helpful information on how to get it set up.

Understanding the Three Platforms

Verity has two different platforms that you can choose from to proctor your assessments.

The Browser Extension option allows you to record their screen AND their face while they take the exam. Videos are then flagged with possible suspicious activity for you to review. This option is not currently available for Firefox.

The Lockdown App is more like the Respondus browser in that it is an application the student must download to their device (Windows and Mac only) and use for the test.

This Lockdown App will be installed on campus lab computers except Chromebooks at a later date.

Live Proctoring allows an instructor or other proctor to monitor students taking a test simultaneously. Much like using Zoom to watch students taking a test, but Verity allows you to view their monitors and chat with individual students privately.
