Alexander on London Calling

Danny Alexander, professor of English, has published a reflection/assessment essay of The Clash’s 1980 album, London Calling.  The opening of the essay summarizes the effect the album had upon Alexander 40 years ago.  Discovering the album in Walmart in 1980 “was better than Christmas.” Four decades later London Calling remains a classic, and Alexander goes track-by-track through the double album, demonstrating the importance of the band and its music, then and now.  Alexander’s essay is available online at https://bridge909.org/news/clash-40-london.
